The Strypes play The Fence Mullingar.

Cavan rock outfit The Strypes play The Fence Mullingar on Saturday 18 March 2017. They bring their ‘Never Mind The Mocks’ tour to Mullingar’s premiere nite club. Special guest will be David Keenan.

Furthermore by touring intimate venues for the month of March, they will play new music from their future yet named third album release.

Background

The four piece rock band from Cavan formed in 2010. To date they have released two studio albums, ‘Snapshot’ (2013) and ‘Little Victories’ (2015). The band line-up is Ross Farrelly (Lead Vocals/Harmonica), Josh McClorey (Lead Guitar), Peter O’ Hanlon (Bass) and Evan Walsh (Drums/Percussion). The third yet unnamed album is due for release shortly.

Influenced by The Beatles, The Who, Chuck Berry, The Rolling Stones and Bo Diddley to name a few. Their career was launched when as an unknown band they played the 2010 ‘Late Late Toy Show’. 2012 they released ‘Young, Gifted & Blue, a self produced EP of four blues covers. While working hard on self promotion the EP went No.1 in the iTunes blues charts and as as a result gained interest from various record companies.

As a result of this they signed to Mercury Records in late 2012, they played the UK scene gaining notoriety with top music magazines Mojo and NME. September 2013 The Strypes released their debut album. ‘Snapshot’ was produced by Chris Thomas who has worked with The Beatles and The Sex Pistols. During this time they were on the support card for The Artic Monkeys and The Courteeners concerts. A huge television appearance on the Late Show with David Letterman in March 2014 with Letterman introducing the band with “The Strypes – thats all you need to know!”

2015 the second album ‘Little Victories’ was released. The album reached No.1 here in Ireland and number 27 in the UK charts. Three singles released were ‘What a Shame’, ‘I Need to be Your Only’ and ‘Scumbag City’.

‘Never Mind the Mocks’ Tour

This tour will showcase new material from the upcoming third album. Ethan Johns produced this imminent third album release. Ethan Johns produced the first three Kings of Leon albums. Some would argue the first three KOL albums are their best recordings. The album was recorded in the legendary Rockfield Studios near Monmouth in Wales.
