MIT Mullingar presents…
MIT Mullingar presents “Making and Listening to Digital Music – From the past to the future”. The Annebrook Hotel Mullingar hosts this free talk which takes place on 14th March at 19:30. Maynooth University’s Dr. Joe Timoney will be delivering the presentation. The presentation will give a history of music technologies from the 1980’s to the present digital age. Dr. Joe will be discussing the future of digital music and the difficulties associated with the technology.
Furthermore as the presentation is open to the public it would be very advantageous to musicians, sound technicians, engineers, music teachers, DJ’s and singer/songwriters. Sponsors of the event are Mullingar Music Shop.
A Mullingar native Dr. Joe Timoney studied Electronic Engineering and completed his Phd in 1998. Lecturing in Maynooth his field is Music Technology and Computer Science Undergraduate programs. Dr. Joe’s research interests are based in the area of audio signal processing, with a focus on musical sound synthesis and the digital modelling of analogue subtractive synthesis. He has supervised a number of PhD students in the fields of Audio analysis and Digital Audio Watermarking.
As a result of high attendance being expected registration is necessary for the event.
MIT Mullingar – A Profile
With 179 members on LinkedIn, MIT Mullingar was established in 2014. Formed by Anthony Palmer and Orla Duncan this volunteer group is an IT Networking group. Having been established for people working or studying in Web, Digital and IT, it is based for those around the Mullingar area.
Furthermore the network consists of highly skilled Web Designers, Engineers, Bloggers, IT managers and Programmers. MIT Mullingar aims to Provide social networking opportunities; Organise talks on interesting IT topics; Support local IT companies; Facilitate IT job creation.
