Renowned as the greatest live band ever Queen formed in London in 1970. The classic line-up was Freddie Mercury (vocals), Brian May (lead, vocals), Roger Taylor (drums, vocals) and John Deacon (bass, guitar). Undoubtedly this makes Queen one of the world’s best selling music artists. 1977’s “We Will rock You” and “We Are The Champions” are widely used at many sporting events  around the world.

Queen influencers were The Beatles, The Kinks, Pink Floyd, The Who and David Bowie. Many music publications rank Queen’s performance at Live Aid in 1985 as the greatest in rock and roll history. Queen were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2001. ‘Bohemian Rhapsody’ was inducted into The Grammy Hall of Fame in 2004 and also was voted the UK’s ‘favourite song of all time’

In 1991, Freddie Mercury died of bronchopneumonia, a complication of AIDS, and Deacon retired in 1997. Since then, May and Taylor have performed under the name of Queen with Paul Rodgers and Adam Lambert as vocalists on several tours.
